Jan Simon

Leaving corporate world behind 4 years ago, Jan has since pursued her passion for jewellery and the creative arts as part of her portfolio career.

She now designs and creates contemporary fine silver jewellery using precious metal clay. Her jewellery is unique, tactile and a pleasure to wear; the organic and textual designs of her work are influenced by the properties and adaptability of the clay and she takes her artistic inspiration from the marine surroundings of her hometown of Leigh-on-Sea.

Keen to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for this relatively new but accessible medium Jan also teaches precious metal clay.

As an active member of the Leigh Art Trail she not only exhibits her work but also helps organise the 9 day long June event. During 2009 she will also be exhibiting as part of the ‘Made in Essex ’ shows.
